Before you hit play, seriously, grab some tissues. If this story doesn’t get you in the gut, I don’t know what will. You see, Jack, the groom, lost his father before the wedding. Not to mention, Jack is becoming a father by marrying Samantha. She has an adorable little son, who only knows Jack as dad. This, my friends, is a truly beautiful story of love. A man lost his father, gets married and becomes a father himself. The entire day was so full of emotion. From when Jack sees his bride for the first time, to the vows, to when Jack is talking about his father leaving him a watch and cuff links for the day, all the way down to the father of the bride giving a speech. So many moments. So many special memories captured. I just can’t believe I was there to capture it all.

As a father myself, I caught myself choking up several times during the day. Just something about a father’s love being passed down, even when he wasn’t able to physically be there, will give you the chills. I didn’t get to meet Jack’s dad, but I feel like I know him. His presence was all over this wedding. I can tell you he was a kind and strong man, soft in his demeanor, and passionate about his family. Because that is exactly who Jack is. A man, strong enough to show his emotions, strong enough to step up to the plate (no pun intended, as he is a college baseball player), and take responsibility for another human. I think being a father has been so watered down in the past decade, with social media, sitcoms, and the like. This friends, was a real man, doing things nobody asked of him, to provide for a woman and her child. Nobody expected him to be this kind, but he is.

Let’s not forget about Samantha. A collegiate soccer player that has battled so many things in her life. So many hurdles. All to get up, pick herself up, and get back to work. After a blown knee, she worked her way into a Division-1 school at Oral Roberts University playing soccer. All while being a single mother. So many words I have for this family, but what it all comes down to is one thing, respect. I respect your entire family, and am better for knowing you. Most of the time couples thank me, but this time, I thank you all.
