Cara and Kale’s Rosemary Ridge Event Venue Wedding Video

When Cara contacted me about filming her wedding, I knew I wanted to be there. She had several friends that had used us before, and I could just tell that she and Kale were my kind of people. After doing this for 12 years, you get a feeling in your gut about a couple. As I take less and less weddings each year, I try to really focus on bringing in couples that really get me. Couples that really get why I do what I do, and just let me do it. I know it sounds cheesy, but I don’t want to be hired as an artist, and told to use red paint, to paint on a canvas, and to draw a flower. I want someone to hire me and say “make art.” This is what these two let me do. I didn’t have any boundaries. They let me control lighting, angles, posing, EVERYTHING. It was a dream come true for me.

I was so inspired that I wanted to try something I hadn’t before. I took them out in the middle of the night, in the pitch black, cold winter night, and recorded some of the most incredible backlit footage I have ever seen. Just us, the photographers, them, and a light. You will see some of those shots sprinkled throughout the film. I would have never felt like I could have done this 2 years ago. Not that my couples wouldn’t have allowed it, but I just wouldn’t have even thought of it.

Thank you Cara and Kale for allowing me to dive into what I love. Your wedding day was so seamless and perfect, and you treated me like family. Rosemary Ridge was the perfect spot for you. So peaceful and beautiful. The wedding day couldn’t have been any better. I hope you know that. I know everything probably didn’t go perfectly, but your day was perfect. You are married, you got the love of your life by your side, and you now have this video to look back on with generations to come. I can only hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it for you.
