Melissa + Bill | Mayo Hotel Wedding | Downtown Tulsa, OK

When we first met Melissa we instantly knew that we liked her. Not only was she hilarious, but she knew what she wanted for her wedding day. When we arrived at The Mayo Hotel, the girls were relaxing in their room, while the crew from Primp Hair and Makeup were getting them all dolled up. The guys were relaxing and enjoying some time as well. Bill, and his son Jackson (Jack) spent some time getting ready for the big ceremony. It was so sweet to see how Bill interacted with his son, and how much care they had for one another. Another fun aspect of the day is that we were shooting alongside our good pal Andrea Murphy (be sure to check her work out, it is fabulous!).

The timeline was a bit spread out so we had some time to just chill and enjoy the company of Melissa before the wedding. Tons of fun in that hotel room. We couldn’t stop laughing! After all the girls and guys got ready, it was time for the first look. Side note, first looks are AWESOME! They not only alleviate any pressure the couple is feeling, but they give you time to just say hey to one another before the ceremony. Think about it. Most of the time a bride and groom don’t get to be alone until they are driving away from their wedding. The first look allows you to just take a deep breath, relax, and enjoy your day. You can get your pictures all out of the way, and the list continues. Okay, rant over! Back to this awesome couple…

The ceremony was filled with laughs and tears. Melissa’s ring was only dropped twice, and she made it up the stairs successfully. One of our favorite moments was when Melissa and Bill both said vows to Jackson, Bill’s son. Such an emotional moment, and so sweet! The evening was filled with dancing, a photo wall, and some great times between the new family. All in all, this wedding was awesome. We have since kept in touch with Melissa, and she has continued to make us laugh every time we see her. Congrats you two! We had such a great time!
